Abstract

The article analyses the main peculiarities of publicand organisations’ management. Business and public organizations,working in the same environment, operatedifferent systems of management.Efficiency is one of the essential differences betweenpublic and private organisations. While efficiency in thecase of private firm can usually be measured by comparingthe amount of resources used for production and theamount of outcome produced it is not the same with publicorganisations.As underlying and fundamental aim of the new publicmanagement (NPM) reform program is to transform managementof public organisations into a business-like management.NPM incorporates the importation of private sectormanagement systems and techniques into the public services.
